Gentle Birth Formula: Blue Cohosh-Free Option

The inspiration for Gentle Birth Formula comes from the weathered pages of a trusted midwifery guide, where an herbal blend—once prepared as a traditional tea—was used to support the body during the final weeks of pregnancy. When this nearly forgotten recipe was revived in 2001, it was refined with modern herbal understanding and crafted into a convenient liquid extract.

Over the years, we’ve heard from families, midwives, and birth professionals who value this traditional approach but prefer an option without Blue Cohosh. While Blue Cohosh has a long history of traditional use, some individuals and practitioners choose to avoid it due to varying preferences, sensitivities, or evolving professional guidelines.

That is why we created a Blue Cohosh–Free version of Gentle Birth Formula—maintaining the spirit of the original tradition while honoring the needs, comfort, and choices of today’s families. This thoughtfully selected blend supports your birth-preparation routine using herbs that have been trusted for generations, without including Blue Cohosh.

Midwives, doulas, and birthing professionals around the world appreciate having a choice that aligns with a wide range of birth philosophies. Families from Canada to Europe, Asia, Central and South America, and Australia have embraced this option as part of their preparation for welcoming a new baby.

Note: Gentle Birth without Blue cohosh formula may also be used up to two weeks after delivery to support recovery and healing.

Ingredients

Blessed Thistle herb:
Physiologically, its natural bitterness stimulates organs and triggers certain glands into action; these are thought to be mainly the liver, kidneys, and reproductive organs.

Red Raspberry Leaf:
Used as a uterine tonic to prepare your body to give birth. May enrich
colostrum for a more satisfied, well-contented baby; allowing you to recover from the hardest work you have ever done.

Partridge Berry herb:
The bitter compounds in this herb ease birthing pains and soothe anxiety. May help support postpartum mood balance.

Ginger root:
May enhance the effect of all the herbs in the formulation while gently easing nausea.

Skullcap herb:
Eases smooth muscle spasms and is very calming to the nerves, helping you relax when it’s most important.

Motherwort herb:
This natural cardiovascular support is rich in flavonoids, plus it has a mild
sedative effect to help you stay calm and focused.

Wild Yam root:
Its relaxing and soothing properties make wild yam one of the best herbs to ease late pregnancy discomfort and birthing pains.

Bayberry root:
As a member of the myrtle family, its astringent properties make it another cardiovascular tonic and useful in suppressing bleeding
